Disposal Schedule Authoring

Authorised disposal schedules are documents which sanction the destruction and or retention  of records in accordance with regulatory, organizational and community requirements/expectations.    They identify record classes created by the specific entity and direct them with regards to long term management by clearly defining, through the application of specific timeframes, when an action is to occur and the life-expectancy of each  class.

In the public arena these must be approved by either the State or Federal Archives Offices, dependant upon the jurisdiction the Organisation falls under.  In the private arena, schedules approved by the Board or equivalent, Corporate Auditors and Solicitors, can demonstrate that all reasonable considerations had been applied prior to the destruction of records.

Document Management Consultancy offers all sectors of business, Government and the community the experience to assist with either the drafting or compilation of disposal schedules .  We undertake a comprehensive appraisal process in accordance with AS/ISO 15489, - The Records Management Standard, using the NAA’s DIRKS methodology as applicable.  Each schedule is uniquely devised so as to ensure the individual regulatory and Organisational requirements are covered.  This process reduces the margin for error with regards to the issue of retention advice.

If your records have been allowed to accumulate over time, they could be in fact costing you more than they are worth, or conversely could prove to be a liability if sourced during litigation.  Let Document Management Consultancy help reduce your records liabilities through the creation and implementation of customized disposal schedules.
